While I don't agree with a lot of stuff Bush does, you'll actually find that his approval rating is much higher from military personell than civilians.
Anyways, I think the military could be a great choice for paying for college. I don't think it's a great career choice, though, but that's just my opinion. People that work in the private sector will make more than those in the public sector that have similar jobs. Can you guys give me your honest advice? Is the military really a good option?

Take your money and put it into Certificates of Deposit and bonds and so on. An IRA is something you should worry about when you have a steady job, as it's for the long-term and fairly inflexible.
CDs and bonds are more liquid. Given your concerns with losing your job or moving, you need something that's readily convertible to cash.
I spent money on LASIK surgery because it will pay for itself roughly 3 times over in the course of my life (assuming I live to my mid-70s). If your concern is whether the surgery is worth it, in financial terms, then get a surgery that will allow you to save money in the future. In my case, for example, I don't have to pay for contacts/glasses every year, anymore. The money I will save on that in the long-run will pay for my surgery, over time.
Lastly, getting stronger is something you can do without spending a lot of money. If you feel it's a necessity to make an investment in that area, start small and make sure you want to stick with it before dropping serious cash.
I regret not going in. it always look good on a resume and the real key is they pay for your schooling. that is worth more than you know. I paid for school and you don't want to do that.
Keep in mind that the Army and Marines are doing most of the work in Iraq and Afghanistan. So if your desire is to not support those wars, you can join the Air Force or Navy, and most likely not get involved.
I say it's a good option to go into military. The money you got in the bank go ahead put it IRA account. It be a nice source income at retirement. Military would help you gain weight and become stronger. Education you got in some college your chances of getting promotion is allot better. You may get better experience work wise.
Stay in School.
That question is a little iffy. I have 2 military brothers. One got in got lucky and stationed where he wanted to be and learned a skill that will help him greatly once he gets out. The other not making so much, has only skills that can be used in the military, and goes on deployment all the time...sometimes 2 weeks sometimes 6 months....and if your opposed to Bush I def. would not get in. You want to fight his cause? If anything hold off and wait until Hillary gets in there. I would not suggest getting in at this time. I need all those things too but I am just ruffing it out right now and getting my degree and then get the job I want.
I think people go into the military to serve not necessarily Bush, but the country as a whole.
