Can you guys give me advice about getting into college and succeeding in the courses there? ?

I am a junior at high school and need advice from people that have gone through this...thanksCan you guys give me advice about getting into college and succeeding in the courses there? ?
It all depends on what your major is....I am premed and that is very competitive so classes tend to be harder because everyone wants that A. Yet it is still fun. However, if you choose another major such as political science or english, your courses will be easier ...much easier!

But I am not saying this to discourage you from a science major. It all depends on what you are interested in and on the school you go to. But it would be easier to succeed in non-science courses usually.

Also to succeed there are a lot of website that offer professor reviews so you should check those before you sign up for a class. If the teacher has a bad reputation you might want to wait to take that class or take it with another teacher....you can also ask older students abut their experiences, that always helps.

But don't worry about this now you will have a lot resources in college so use them and ask questions once you are in college because every school is different.

PS: I go to UCLA

I'm in college and getting into college is stressful during high school however it is not the end of the world. You might not get accepted into the top schools on your list choose one that fits you. Something I had to learn was to enter college with an open mind.

As for succeeding in courses the one main thing for success in a course is to show up to the lectures or labs everyday. If you miss one day it can really set you back. Also go to teachers office hours and try to utilize the resources that are available.
I'm in college with a good gpa. My advice to you is DON'T PROCRASTINATE. Do a little here and there... that way you won't be stuck with all the pressure of doing entire assignments the night before. Trust me... when you're in college, you will need to straighten up. Making a SCHEDULE is important and helps you stay focused.
